Arbitrary Skepticism: He keeps insisting to Mugman that "ghosts ain't real" in the episode of the same name, despite the fact that he's met the Devil and had his soul nearly taken by him.

Granted, the former's soul appears to wear white gloves as well.)Ĭuphead: Paint the fence, milk the goat, patch the roof! It's the same old stuff every day! What we need is a little fun and adventure! (Though some, like Cuphead and his brother, have yellow gloves.

The cups are also bereft of their finger gun abilities, which is justified as in-game, they only got said abilities after Elder Kettle gave them special potions and taught them how to use their powers, and they also had the option of buying upgrades from Porkrind. Chauncey seems to lack his psychic abilities from the game note though he once did gain the telltale swirling eyes), aside from the Devil, Cala Maria, and Ms. Adaptational Wimp: None of the characters display any of the overtly supernatural abilities shown in the games (e.g.
#The devil cuphead full#
Essentially, as long as you make it to 2.3 phase with either 2 HP or a full super bar: you pretty much win. If you get lucky, you can make it through 2.2 phase with minimal movements and as soon as the devil starts the final 2.3 crying phase you can unleash a super art invincibility move after just a small amount of time wailing on him and that charge will stay active for the bulk of the 2.3 phase. By the time the phase really gets going and you may have some difficulty juggling all the new things the phase is just about over. Then the devil has to sort of ramp up his 2.2 phase by introducing enemies and then summoning the little guys on top that is supposed to make the phase difficult when working all together. All the while the player is just unloading on him because theres nothing else to do. The problem is, is that the devil spends so much idle time in a transition animation where he reels back in pain and his face contorts for a solid 3.5 seconds where nothing happens. You may die once or twice simply because you don't know what an attack does for the first time. You only have to learn three different things about the 2.1 phase and they're all rather small and easy to grasp while strangely not being that threatening to you in the first place. The moment you get to the second phase though he becomes way more predictable. and Found out in the middle of my runs at him that you have to crouch with the snake move after moving to the side otherwise you take damage.) All the other moves have pretty straightforward ways to work with it (Found out pretty early on that you could duck underneath the hooves attack. I found his summoning projectile move to be the hardest thing to deal with as you very quickly have to discern what projectile pattern he's summoning and sometimes you just get into situations where the purple devil moves in right in the area you're trying to jump over to to avoid the projectiles and you cannot avoid damage.
His first phase is easily the most frustrating thing. (Spoiler warning kids, I'm going to go into detail on the final fight.) I beat the devil using straight spread shot.
